Simon Okwir is a researcher and lecturer at Uppsala University. He holds a double Ph.D. in Industrial Management and Economics from KTH-Kungliga Tekniska Hogskolan in Sweden and UPM - Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in Spain. Prior to joining Uppsala University, Simon served as an assistant professor at Stockholm University.
Simon’s research interests focus on operations & supply chain strategy, sustainability, and technology.
Simon integrates artistic interventions into engineering classrooms, creating opportunities to incorporate artistic pedagogy into learning activities such as poetry, podcasting, and other symbolic forms of expression.
Simon has collaborated with industry, such as SWEDAVIA, AENA, and IBERIA airlines, on the implementation of Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) in Sweden and Spain. In 2019, Simon collaborated with ICA Supermarket on the feasibility of blockchain in food supply chains.
